I'm having a hard time matching my skin color with Luminess Air foundations, help!

This is a simple fix in six easy steps! Step 1- Please locate all of the foundation shades within your starter kit. Step 2- Shake all the bottles extremely well for a minimum of 30 seconds before your first application; this will ensure you receive the best result from your airbrush makeup. Step 3- Please test each of the four shades on your forearm (Skin on the forearm tends to be a very close match to your face); spray a light stripe on your skin to reveal the color. Step 4- Select the closest shade to your current skin tone. If your skin shade is not an exact match, don’t worry! A close shade will become very exact when airbrushed! Step 5- Place 4-6 drops of the selected shade into the airbrush cup. Step 6- Gently begin to spray product onto your face using a circular motion. It's important to remember that you should spray a light, delicate coat of product on your skin. Never pull the airbrush throttle all the way back unless you are cleaning out your stylus. Pull any further and you will produce a very thick unattractive coat. Go light with your coverage and then re-coat 1 to 3 additional times or until your desired results are achieved.

 

How often should I clean my stylus?

Airbrush foundation is not like traditional makeup. With Luminess, a little goes a long way. The average person uses 6-8 drops per makeup application. Most women start out using more product until they become familiar with the new way of applying airbrush makeup. Remember, airbrush makeup is all about layers. The more familiar you become with the technique of Airbrushing, the less makeup you will use.

 

I do not like how the makeup feels on my face! What should I do?

EASY TO FIX! First-time users tend to apply more makeup than is required. Go light and slow! Liquid foundation can look extremely “Caked-on” if applied heavily, and dry mineral makeup can look flaky and dusty.

Airbrushing gives the ultimate finish and the secret is to apply the product using very fine coats.

Step 1- Keep your airbrush “one airbrush stylus length” or 6” away from your face. This allows for a more even distribution of makeup and eliminates build-up.

Step 2- Apply very sheer delicate coats by barely pulling back on your stylus (never pull back beyond 1/3 of the way on the throttle. If you are pulling back all the way, you are spraying way too hard and will not get the look you desire).

Step 3- Go extremely slow the first couple of applications. Once you have the technique down, you will see how fast and easy it is to apply your airbrush makeup!

 

My makeup application looks blotchy and uneven. How can I get an even distribution easily?

Remember the first time you spray-painted? Spray cans have an explosive uncontrollable force while airbrush empowers you with the ultimate maximum control. You are not spraying furniture, or a wall, so remember to go extremely light. At first, to achieve very fine layers, you will need to work the product slowly with a delicate touch. The throttle on the stylus is in your control first-time users tend to pull the throttle all the way back resulting in very bad, blotchy, and overall extremely unattractive results.

 

My makeup looks heavy and artificial, how can I achieve a more natural look?

Airbrushing is the “Gold standard” in cosmetics and creating a natural look is the paramount reason airbrushing was created. If your makeup looks heavy and “made-up”, this is the result of too much makeup being applied too quickly. Slow-down and you will achieve the most amazing look. The secret to airbrushing is to apply the product using very fine coats/layers. So what is a fine coat? Some of us are naturally born with a soft “peach-fuzz” and at times this presents its challenges in makeup application. You may have airbrushed a light delicate coat of foundation only to find that your facial hair has picked up some of the micro-particles from the spray. This issue is extremely easy to fix. Use a quality fan brush and gently fleece the facial hair; the micro-particles will instantly brush away in seconds revealing a lovely finish to your skin.

Never apply heavy coats. A single heavy coat will have a 1/4 fractional life compared to 2 or 3 light coats which will easily last 10+ hours or overnight.

No- Cleaning the needle is not necessary after each and every use. Your instructional DVD has a section related to spatter control, which can walk you through the cleaning process. Every once in a while, you will notice that your airbrush is not giving you the finest possible spray. In this event, pull out the needle and wipe it down with a tissue (It only takes 30 seconds!). Do this before a special occasion for the best possible results.

How do I clean my stylus?

To clean the stylus, put several drops of water inside of the makeup cup and turn the system on. Place your finger over the front tip of the stylus, and this will cause the water to “bubble” in the makeup cup. Do this for about 8-15 seconds by pulling back on the throttle about a ¼ of the way. Once this is done, pull all the way back on your throttle and blow out all of the product and water inside of the makeup cup.
